Great Family Fun in Dayton, Ohio

It seems like families with kids are always out of luck when they look for something fun to do in or around Dayton. We’ve been in the area since 1995, and we are always at a loss on what to do and where to go with the kids in Dayton.

Sure, you can go see the Flyers – that is, if they’re in season, playing at home, the weather is right and you can get a small loan to pay for the refreshments and souvenirs.

What about Kings Island? What about it? Between the drive, the cost and the safety, we never have that much fun. Plus, we’ve got little kids (ages 6, 9, and 11), and there’s not a ton for them to do at Kings Island.

This weekend we discovered a brand new place for kids and families to have a great time without the high cost, without the gangs, without weather worries and without the hassle. It’s called BounceU, and it’s the most amazing place my kids have ever seen.

BounceU is actually in Miamisburg (right near the Dayton Mall), and it is literally a building with thousands and thousands of square feet filled with inflatables.

What The Heck Are Inflatables?

They actually have 12,000 square feet filled with GIGANTIC inflatable slides, boxing rings, basketball hoops, a cool area with air cannons that shoot small Nerf-type balls, and the biggest hit, “Spider Mountain.”

Spider Mountain is this 18′ cliff/mountain you climb and then either climb back down or slide down the attached 18′ inflatable slide. It’s an amazing site when first walk into the room.

My kids went crazy for two hours and they went home exhausted. Believe me, there is no better exercise for a child to have than something like this – and they will run and jump the whole time!

The place really is Dayton, Ohio’s only indoor playground. It’s not just for kids, either. Adults are allowed to bounce around like maniacs, as well. They host school field trips, preschool play dates, fundraisers, charity events and anything else you can think of.

We’re actually planning on going back with a team from my work for one of their “team building” sessions. These are private sessions where you and your coworkers can work out some frustrations. Like those expensive corporate retreats, you go back to work with a new energy and a new outlook on your business.

Dayton’s Best Place For Kid’s Parties – Hands Down!

The best part of BounceU is that it is the best place in Dayton to have a child’s birthday party. You get the place for two hours (an hour and fifteen minutes of bounce time) and you don’t have to lift a finger. No more Chuck E. Cheese for us, this is our top pick for children’s birthday parties in Dayton.

It’s important to note that their Private Party Hours are literally whenever you want to have your party – that’s a lot different than the roller rink or bowling alley where we have to have the party exactly when they tell us. Provided the timeslot is not already taken, BounceU will book your party whenever you want to hold it. (Of course, the best times go fast, so call them and book your child’s party.)

BounceU has plenty of “open bounce” times during the week – but I recommend you make reservations, since the “open bounce” times fill up fast. Here’s a link to their website, so you can get more information. (By the way, this is the only BounceU in Ohio, so it’s worth the drive from the Cincinnati area.)

I cannot stress enough how much fun all three of my children had last weekend at BounceU – they really are a breath of fresh air for family fun in Dayton.
